Making Stone Effect Walls

This is Thatch Cottage in the making...

To create a stone effect I used lots of news paper and lots of PVA glue.  The news paper a tore into strips, twisted up and then glued in place.  Once set I added some water to some PVA and tore paper into little squares, I dipped them in the watery glue and stuck them over the walls until everywhere was completely covered.  I allowed this to dry for about a day or so, then I painted it with a matt white paint.
